While writing a new post in our WordPress dashboard you might have gone through a term send trackback to , This according to wordpress codex is a way to intimate some other blog that you’ve liked there post and are acknowledging them about using that post and writing something like that.
According the wordpress Glossary “This improves the chances of the other author sitting up and noticing that you gave him credit for something, or that you improved upon something he wrote, or something similar. With pingback and trackback, blogs are interconnected. Think of them as the equivalents of acknowledgements and references at the end of an academic paper, or a chapter in a textbook.”
For example I read such a post at a very good ranked blog so I will be sending a trackback to that url.
