The world’s number one technology innovator Apple Inc. is evidently working on to bring-in the largely-lured wireless charging option along with its iPhone 6 next year. Recent patent applications from Apple and rumors on tech blogs reveal that Apple is working on a project to build a conductive wireless charging system for its iPhone 6, the iPhone version that may actualize in 2012 or 2013. Of course, wireless charging has been one of much-awaited features by tech geeks for a long time. There have been wide discussions on the possibilities of wireless charging technology in tech blogs. Apple, at the moment, seems to be in the final stage of realizing such a groundbreaking technology.
Is wireless charging possible? Yes, recent studies have discovered some conductive method to charge a device placed on a “charging mat” is practicable. The base of the technology is that it can induce a current in a coil of wire from one device to another one. The charger device will be up with a large coil of wires inside. A current is passed through the coil to create a magnetic field around the coil, which meets with a second coil, the one from a mobile device. It ends up in charging the device you rested on a mat. There is no more information on what will be this mat or so. It is the near field magnetic resonance (NFMR) technology that works behind the conduction-based charging.
As it is reported customers will just have to place his/her smartphone on a wireless mat that will be thin and portable, indeed. As you place the mat somewhere near to your Mac or PC, your phone will get charging. In fact, wireless charging via this conductive technology produces current for the smartphone in a magical way. But it has been the research of Apple engineers for a while. The company is now about to realize the technology with any of its recent iPhone upgrades.
Wireless charging will replace your bulky charger. Moreover, you will no longer have to search for an electricity outlet to charge the device. You can just make use of the conductive technology, which will charge your device automatically. But it is not clear how effective the technology will be. Experiments on this technology are still in progress. As it is to come from Apple, famous only for high quality products, there will be nothing to be doubtful the product’s efficacy, however.
Apple has now just showed up its fifth generation smartphone called iPhone 4S. The device will just appear in stores with the game changing feature iCloud. Surprising the rumor mills, there won’t be an iPhone 5 this year. As it is known we will only be getting a totally revamped iPhone 5 next year only. Right now we are to get only a slightly modified iPhone version, which will run on iOS 5, the best iOS update ever.
