With the rising fashion of DTH services in India Since Doordarshan launched DD Direct plus this is the first time Doordarshan will actually be working on the service so called DTH.

With Tata Sky , Airtel ,Videocon ,Sun ,Dish in competition DoorDarshan is planning something extra to shift the market to DD. Most of the service providers already offer educational news, Games, e-learning etc so Doordarshan has planned to give free set-top boxes and free antenna’s to first few customers.
Not just this Doordarshan will also increase the channels from 97 to 200. Also adding to it DD Plus will be offering many paid channels free of cost to mark up their presence in the market.DD Direct plus will also see technology upgrade – A move to the latest video compression technology—MPEG 4, DVB S-2—used by most private DTH operators currently.
Hope to find a good competition in the DTH market with the entry of Doordarshan.
