Using the internet these days is not like back in the days when there are dial up internet connections. With the advent of broadband internet, people are able to communicate with each other faster that before. You don’t want to be left behind when communications and technology are concerned, and for this reason, you’ll not want to have your internet perform slow than it should.
There are several things I’ve experienced with using startup ISPs’ services to run my discount coupon blog which talks about weight watchers and ediet. Part of those things I’ve learnt from using startup ISPs’ services are factors that can hinder the speed of your connection and how to tackle them at an early stage.
In this post, I shall be sharing some of my experiences with you.
You are loading too many tabs
Loading too many tabs on a single web browser can contribute greatly to slowing down the speed of your internet connection. You may be tempted to open new web pages on your web browser while other tabs are still running, but this will have negative impact on your connection speed. The consequence of doing this is your broadband internet connection becoming slow in speed. Your web browser might also hang along the line and cause your computer to become slow.
Instead of loading too many tabs on your web browser and therefore, cause your broadband to become slow in performance, just jot the urls of the websites you want to visit in a notepad and load those websites later on.
Viruses are eating up your bandwidth
Viruses are malicious programs and having them in your computer can result in your computer performing slowly. Apart from your computer becoming slow and thus affecting the speed of your internet in the process, files can be transferred from your computer to the internet. This will cause you to lose your confidential data to unknown individuals, usually the malicious hackers responsible for programming the virus that transferred your files.
To avoid losing your confidential data to unknown hackers and make your connection become slow in the process, install an antivirus program on your computer and always make sure you are updating it to see that you are fully secured.
Your computer is slow
Using a slow computer cannot allow your internet to run faster. To gain the full experience you are meant to gain from your broadband, you have to enhance the speed of your computer. There are several things you can do to make sure your computer is running as fast as it should.
Delete old files from your hard disk and clean up your desktop home, by removing unused icons, to make things faster. If your recycle bin is full, make sure you empty it.
Your hard disk needs defragmentation
Hard disk fragmentation can cause your computer to run in a poor state and also affect your broadband internet connection speed. Disk fragmentation is a state your hard drive is when your files have been split into several segments, which will make it difficult for your computer to load them when you instruct it to do so.
Make sure you run hard disk defragmenter on your computer regularly to make it easy for your computer to access your files faster.
